Rachel's most well-known character is Debbie Downer, SNL's most depressing character since Michael O'Donoghue's Mr. Debbie constantly points out upsetting current events (example: When asked if she wanted steak for breakfast, she said, "I'm not taking any chances, since that Mad Cow's going around (paraphrasing)").
In an interview in 2010, she told People that her pregnancy at age 44 shocked her, because she "had bought into all this stuff about, ' Once you're over 40...'", and had "gone through the whole process of letting go of [the idea of having kids]".
Her partner has since moved to New York City to be closer to Dratch and their son.
